Olivia Bernauer

Olivia Bernauer graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in December of 2014 with a bachelor’s of science in biology and a certificate in mathematics. Before coming to the vanEnglesdorp bee lab in the spring of 2015, Olivia worked in a USDA cranberry entomology lab at UW Madison where she conducted an independent research project on the impact of fungicide on bumble bee colonies. After working with adorable, fuzzy bumble bees, Olivia decided pursue a master’s in entomology at the University of Maryland. Her ongoing research combined citizen science with a specimen collection to determine the most valuable pollinator plants for the native pollinators in the state of Maryland.
